So I bought my first movie on iTunes (Aliens). The image is 1912 pixels wide. Some would say that 8 pixels won't change much, but playing fullscreen will involve some scaling, which will affect sharpness. Why in the world do they encode movies in a resolution different from HD TVs? Oh, and movies sold on the French store are encoded in 25p, and are thus shorter than their original length. Again, why? It's not as if blu ray films were not all encoded in 24p (even in France they are). WTF Apple?
Any help will be apprecited.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
